An ISO 9001 QMS is used to document the processes, procedures, and responsibilities in support of the objectives and guidelines of a company in order to achieve quality standards and targets. The ISO 9001:2015 standard defines how a company operates in order to meet the demands of its customers and stakeholders, based on eight principles of quality management: customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, management systems approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making, and risk-based thinking.
