Front cabin Lightweight

The structurally relevant front cabin for rail vehicles is particularly characterized by the following features:

• Innovative lightweight design with ultra-large CFRP structures
• Reduced number of individual parts combined with a high level of functional integration
• Modern cab design with complete separation of cab and car body without a continuous underframe
• More than 30 percent reduction in weight compared to a metal design

A mock-up of the CFRP front cab can be seen in the permanent exhibition “Schienenverkehr” (Rail Transport) at the Dresden Transport Museum, as an exhibit showcasing the “Train of the Future”.
